What can I make for my new baby boy?
He’ll be here anyday and I’m bored out of my mind being stuck in the house and not being able to move around much. I love all types of art and crafts. I don’t have a sewing machine but I can hand stitch something. I enjoy cross-stitch, plastic canvas, painting, drawing, candle and soap making, jewelry making, rug making, photography, scrapbooking/collages, etc. I also have a bedazzler which I haven’t used yet (not sure what I could make with that for a boy). I have a lot of baby clothes I could alter. Any ideas? 
I wish I knew how to knit and crochet. 
I have a book on it but I can never get it right. lol

Maybe you could use the bedazzler to make a wall hanging of something cute like a teddy bear for the baby’s room – congratulations! You won’t be bored for long!!
In the movies they always knit baby booties, or even a little cap.
How about cross stitching a bib, or several bibs? You can purchase cross stitch bibs at the craft store. (Our local walmart carries them also)
There are lots of free patterns available online that you can download. Do a search for free baby cross stitch patterns.
Another suggestion to find some free patterns is to join an online cross stitch group and ask the members for suggestions.
buy two pieces of fleece fabric. One solid (baby blue) and the other a print that will match. (each should be 1/2 a yard to 1 yard) cut the ends and tie the two pieces together. This will makea really cute baby blanket!
I have made the cutest boppy pillows using the minky fabric from JoAnn Fabrics. The pattern was right on the pillow package. The pillow is called a nurture nest and is shaped like a horseshoe. I embroidered the child’s name on the pillow as well as an appropriate baby design or boy or girl design. The recipient of this gift was overjoyed as she had twin preemies a boy and a girl. One side of the fabric is the bumpy side and the other side is a smoother minky which is the side that I embroidered the name and design on. The baby will get lots of use as it wraps around them and supports there head. Later on it can be used for a tv pillow or for reading in bed. The pillow are $26.00 dollars but I used my Joann coupon and got 40% off so it made it a more reasonable gift to give.
What a sampler to commemorate your son’s arrival? There are many baby samplers for little boys, from pretty simple to pretty complex. I’ve seen baby samplers with trains, blocks, Beatrix Potter, bears, etc. You’ll be pretty much homebound for a while after your son’s birth so you’ll have time to stitch while he naps (I did this when my son was born).
Take those extra baby clothes, cut em up and stich them together to make a baby quilt. You can even use the snaps on the onesies to edge along the quilt. Doin this will make it easy to put together and take apart for cleaning. I made one quilt out of excess baby clothes and one out of recieving blankets. My son now 13 months wont sleep comfortable without them. It’s so cute the ways his eyes light up when he see’s moma’a blanket. Embrodier a message in the corner for him, for when he gets older.
When I was ready to have my babies I painted those wooden letters you find in Target, Walmart, ot craft stores. You can do just the initials or the whole first name. It was a nice project to do & put in their room.
you can make a homemade mobile for your baby. Get some wool or some wadding (used in quilting) to make the stuffing and cut fabric in animal shapes.
If you have a sewing machine you can stitch it up (leaving an openind for the stuffing) and finish the opening (after stuffing it) with blanket stitches.
If you dont have a sewing machine you can Blanket stitch it (leaving an opening), stuff it and finish it with more balnket stitches.

Why not start a scrap book for the baby. My daughter loves the one I made for her baby. I just took a few family photo’s and put into a scarp book with little saying around them.
You can also cover a photo album in fabric all that’s needed is hot glue, photo album, a little quilt batting (not required) and baby fabric.
You can also make a baby quilt to match. You don’t need a machine hand stitch the edges
All of the above takes little time or money.
