What camera should a beginner photographer buy?
I’m interested in becoming a professional photographer or just have photography as a hobby and I was just wondering what kind of camera a beginner buy. It would help if it isn’t very expensive because I have to pay for it my self and I’m only in 8th grade. -_- It’s ok if it’s expensive, I’ll save up, but if there are so cheap ones that are still good please let me know.
Thanks for your help!

Hey there! I highly suggest the Canon Rebel XT (not XTi). It is a pretty old camera (from about 2002 I think), but it is PERFECT for a beginner…. it is what I use! It is simple, durable, and is awesome. (: I am pretty sure it is about $200 or cheaper on eBay, and I suggest buying a used one. I promise, you will fall in love with it! Good luck!
the cheapest canon or nikon with kitlens

I would say to you is begin learning the photography rules and learn how to use them and how to stratch the rules. Get a basic camera. Even a all in one camera. Like the Olympus or sony. Make sure the camera can go fully manual. that way you learn to get the proper exposure. If you want to buy a very good camera then buy a dslr like canon, nikon, even a sony, they run over 5oo dollars. but you can buy a used Olypic or sont for 200 or 300 dollars.
Make sure it has also a 8X optical zoom lens or more.
Understand the camera does not make you professional. it is the way you shoot the pictures. A camera makes the professinal better but a bad picture is always a bad picture even with a 2000 dollars camera. your young learn the art then get the camera to match your art later. Just get one to learn the art
Nowadays, digital is the way to go. Most digital cameras work fairly well, lens quality is probably your most important criteria, with ease of use a close second. I suggest you purchase at least a 10 MP or better. The photographer is much more important. I started over fifty years ago with a Kodak Brownie, and took better pictures than most of the adults I knew. I too became obsessed with photography. I have shot with a number of 35mm, 2 1/4, 4×5, and other sizes including Polaroid Instants, and I can only say the eye is the thing. I have a Fujifilm Finepix 1000fs at the present that I find to work great. It allows me to take telephoto shots, as well as super macro. has a built in flash, settings for full auto or manual control, both aperture and shutter priority, and It cost me about $150 new from e-bay. I’ve had it for a couple years now, so I don’t know if you can still get one of this model, but I’ve seen newer models that are similar for under $200. I learned a long time ago that buying a camera because of it’s name wastes money. Quality is important, but paying extra for the Nikon, when a lesser known brand does the same, and is still a good quality item, isn’t too smart. Once you start earning big bucks, then you can buy the Nikon.
i would go with the canon rebel family because the functions are easy to use and you will be able to get comfortable with the camera
