I recently had this great idea to become a wedding photographer…probably something to do with my Adobe Photoshop class. How do I do this? Do I need a degree? How does one start with it…should I offer to take pictures of my friend’s weddings? Do I need a dark room?
Any info from someone in the field would be appreciated.

My friend and I have an up and coming photography business. What we need to know is what is the industry standard of pricing for a freelance photographer. We cover weddings, special events, portraitures, and sporting events.

I think it would be fun to go into business for myself making things for weddings and baby showers. Baking, decorating, photography and calligraphy are just a few of the things is like to learn…as well as any crafty idea for decorating or jewelry making. How do you get started in learning how to do this kind of stuff? Any suggestions?

How long would a photography program take or what requirements do you have to have to become a photographer for like weddings or a studio? And what kind of money do they make?

My name is Stephanie Emeigh (pronounced AMY), and I am looking to open a freelance photography company, doing a little bit of everything from engagement sessions, baby and family sessions, architecture, and even weddings.
Any suggestions??

I’ve been asked to shoot a local JROTC Ball. I’ve done weddings, gymnastic shoots, and several other things, but never a JROTC Ball. Does the school pay the photographer a session fee, then the photographer gets whatever is made from the formals s/he shoots, or how does this work?
Finally, is there a sequence of events laid out anywhere that I could review in case they want more than simply the formals?
Thanks!

I have been asked to photograph a wedding as an assistant photographer. I think the first wedding will be a trial but he’s asked me to think about how much I would charge for him to keep using me in more weddings.
Can someone help me with what factors I need to think about when working this out?
What would a rough estimate be? Because I have no idea..

We found this photography school in DC that has a one year program for a certificate. It is about 00. My wife has a little bit of a background in photography and never finished college and is having a baby soon.
Would the certificate be helpful in her having a career doing portraits, weddings etc. or should she just take some classes and not do the program. We are thinking a four year degree isn’t really an option at this point which is why the one year of night classes sounded appealing.
Please help! We want to know of anybody who went to a photography school and got a certificate or any photographers advice.
Thank you!
