i am an amerture photographer and i use a Nikon D40 SLR camera. I was just wondering what equiptment I would need for a home photography business. I have been looking at these umberallas etc but have never used them before and am unsure if that is what I need. Am looking at doing baby and kids photography.

I paid a photographer to take photos of my newborn. I also had to pay to obtain a DVD of the digital images which she says means I would own the print release (even though I’m not entirely sure what that means). She is using photos of my baby on her Facebook page to advertise her photography business and she is also using a photo of my baby on a separate website to sell baby accessories. Can she legally do this?

I decided to start my own photography business a few weeks ago. I have been paid to take pictures for a few people, does this make me a professional photographer? or do I need to obtain a business license and such to be considered one?

I’m trying to start my photography business legally and I haven’t came up with a catchy name yet. I had some ideas in mind but when I looked them up they were already taken. I want something simple and a name that has meaning.
I don’t want to use my name in any part since my name is often mispelled and very long.
I’m trying to find something like ___ Photography (either 1 or 2 words, then Photography)
I want to have some type of meaning like a friend of mine did — hers is Epic which she named because of the meaning "beyond the ordinary".

maternity- {hope} session
engagement- {love} session
senior- {ambition} session

what should I call sessions for couples? i am really stumped on this one.. it needs to tie in and go with the other names… any ideas?!
