I want to start taking up photography because i noticed there aren’t really alot of reasonable photographers in my area. I want to do things like senior pictures, wedding photography, prom and special event, family and baby, photography like that of people. I live by the water, so im sure the beach will be the site of alot of my photographs. What is the best type of camera i should look for? Where might i get one for a reasonable price?

I am an amateur digital photographer. I am trying to find more people for shoots to build my portfolio. I do not want to photograph individuals without their permission as that would be rude. So I am trying to find ways to "advertise" for people to shoot pictures of. I am not looking to take pictures of artificial beauty meaning the made up model types. I want to photograph people from "all" walks of life. I want to show diversity and people as they really are in my photographs.

i am new to photography and i am wondering how do you get a photograph with just one section in colour and the rest in black and white?? you know, say it is a black and white photo of a baby and just their hat is in colour or just their eyes are…..i do some photoshopping at home on my computer and was wondering what type of software is avalable for this and/or what is the official term for this being done in photographs?

My baby pictures have always looked wonderful but now that I am grown up. My photographs look less prettier than my original face. I havent really been to many professional photographers in past few years. How can I make my face look photogenic? Colors like orange, etc really look good on me. My fiances brother and sister in law are due any day now for their first baby. For the baby shower, I purchased items off the registry but I also have been wanting to give them another gift when the baby arrives. I purchased three little outfits but I was also considering buying a photography package from a local photographer whose work is just fabulous. Is this a tacky or rude gift? I’m sure that at some point they will want to have photographs taken of the baby within the first few months… I want to give them something that they will be able to treasure and always have… The photographer did my engagement pictures and is wonderful and easy to work with… but I’m worried it could be viewed as shrewd to pick out the photographer and everything… I purchased photography sessions as a family Christmas present a few years ago and everyone loved the idea… For moms to be or moms in general, would this be an accepted gift?
