I want to make a portfolio but I don’t have a lot of money. I would like to be a rich photographer.
I would like to take up photography, lately I have taken an interest in it. I was wondering what camera I should I buy. I found cameras but they are all expensive and I don’t have the most money. And I want my first camera to be a stepping stone where i will later replace with a better one.
So I was wondering what a good beginning (and cheaper) camera for photography is?
So you are saying I should just buy any digital camera as a beginner.
I’m not looking for film camera plus I have one of those.
We paid up front (stupid) for newborn photos and the photographer has failed to give up the pictures. We’ve set up times to pick them up and at the last second she makes up reasons why we can’t get them. We’ve told her to mail them and she delays. How can we get our money back or get our photos?
Does anyone know where I can find baby photo contests that are legit and not looking for .. you know, "modeling" babies?
Money is fine, but college scholarships are preferred. Anything else is cool too..

I want 2 know how many years does it take 2 become a photographer and also how long does it take 2 become a desighner after high school.Which is easy becomeing a photographer or desighner?Does it cost alot?Will i make good money?
I know some models get to test with the senior photographer on the staff (of the agency) but what about everyone else? How do photographers get in to work with an agency or how are they able to test with models that belong to an agency (with out having to fork over the money to work with a professional model)
I have been into photography for quite a few years but never pursued it further than for fun. I have people tell me all the time I should do it for a living. I am just wondering what kind of ways I can earn money with my photos? I am teaching right now but will be taking maternity leave in a about a month. One of my main loves is infant and newborn photography and I will be doing alot of that once my baby is born so I am hoping to build a pretty decient portfolio. I am looking into all my options for after the baby is born and I seeing if there is anyway to make some cash doing what I love so I can stay at home permanately.
I mean professional just means you make money at what you do. Why would one need to be certified to prove that? Either you are a good photographer or you suck. Your works speak for themselves.
And to fine hone this question, what relevance and respect does posting the ownership of a certificate from what is basically an aggrandized photo club have over say a BA or BFA degree from a real university or even over someone who is self taught and unaffiliated with any such paid camera clubs?
Shouldn’t a photographer’s portfolio speak louder then the accolades of an organization is paid to promote ones work?
Of course amongst non professionals a title stating that one is a professional may have some merit, but wouldn’t it actually look amateurish to other professionals for someone to post membership in such a club as a way of bolstering their standing?
This is not an attack on PPA or any other camera club, just a question posed to garner some feedback.
I am looking to start into the business of photography and I already have all of the equipment and I’m self teaching myself, to do photography.( I don’t have the money to do any schooling right now) So can I call/consider myself a photographer or a professional photographer, without going to school? I really want to do this and I’ve already used family and friends and landscapes to start my photo portfolio and they’ve all told me that my pictures are just as good as any other photographer around my area.

I am curious. I am interested in Photography. I don’t have alot of money for schooling. How much would a Certified Photographer earn in compared to a Photographer with Bachelors degree?
