I’m a new photographer with a Canon XSi and I’m looking for a photo editing software that would be great to use. I’m not sure if I should just splurge and get Lightroom or just purchase Photoshop elements for now. Any suggestions would be great! Thank you!

I’m not using it for real, serious photography but for when I’m on a vacation or scenic photos. I’m not looking for a small digital camera either, because I already have one. I’d like to buy a Nikon, Canon or Kodak that’s around 14mp.
*300 dollars or under.

I’m interested in photography and I found a Canon AE-1 program 35 mm camera and a Nikkormat ftn camera in my dads garage. I wanted to know which one is better for an amateur photographer. Any suggestions?

Now, obviously I am going to do my own research and not rely on yahooanswers, but I would like opinions. I would like to know what kind of paper is the best, glossy, matte, etc… Also I will be using a Canon Rebel 12 MP and a Canon Pixma Printer. Does anyone have experience with these? What do you think of them? I am going to get them Friday and wanted some opinions before I make my final decision. I will be doing family photography, children, baby, engagement. Outdoor only. Also I was going to get Adobe Photoshop, but does anyone have any other suggestions of something better? I am about 6 months away from starting because I want to be fully prepared. Thanks for taking the time to read this. If I left anything out that you think would be helpful for you to know in order to give your opinion let me know. Thanks!
Kind Regards,
Melissa ; )
Yes pets, a good idea! Sorry I had to add this to details because I do not know to reply otherwise. So Yes a canon Rebel I am very well aware of all of my camera options, but I am also aware that it’s not just the camera that matters and this is a fine camera with the proper user. I am not trying to open a multi billion dollar company and have been researching for some time. I am not doing this for sole income. I have seen pics taken with this camera and can’t tell the difference between it and a ,000 camera. Although I appreciate your input I still must say, yes I will be using the canon rebel, I feel I can work best with it. I know I am not ready to start tomorrow but have been planning this for a while and like I said am about 6 months away.
Thanks, why would I need more than one body? I have multiple lenses already. Well thanks for the opinions however I did not get on here to be dicouraged I am now more eager than ever to get this started and will update this when I am in business.
Thanks Blessed. And Thanks taxreff, I have all my business side of this in order I have insurance set up to start when I do and have talked with a tax advisor , etc.. Thank you for that advice though
Thanks Shea, good to know ! ; )
Thanks Mick, Well money really isn’t an issue so getting a second body will be fine, the reason I was going with this camera is because it’s lightweight, I work alot better with lightweight cameras.

I am looking to start a portrait studio. I will be taking pictures of families and children/babies. Maybe even senior pictures. I have a 8mp SLR Canon Digital Rebel XT. Is this good enough to start out with? Also, I read that the Tamron 90mm macro lens is good for portraits. Is this true and what other lens will I need? Will I need the following things and if so what kind do you recommend: studio lamps/lights, bounce cards, light reader/meter? Is there anything I’m leaving out? As for backdrops. I’m thinking of having my white background be the kind where the wall curves as it meets the floor..is there a certain name for this? Should I also get a backdrop system for muslins? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!

I’m a beginner. I’ve used and fiddled with an SLR camera before, and I do know a thing or two about photography, but I’d rather start with a more simple camera for my own. I do have a price limit; about 0. I would like to get a Nikon or Canon since I know those are the preferred cameras for beginners. Any other information would be super useful. Thanks!
