I’m a 13 year old photographer, currently I have a Canon PowerShot SD880 IS , but I want to upgrade to a SLR, but I’m not sure which one to get. I love taking macro pictures and pictures of animals. I prefer cameras with 10+ mega pixels, because do a lot of printing and cropping. I don’t know though, should I just stick to my point and shoot? Or upgrade?

I’m going to a community college for an associates degree in communications with a concentration in photography. Could I get enough money to buy a Canon 5D Mark II? ~,000. I’m planning to use it all throughout school. How would I go about getting loans or grants for this purchase?
My tuition is around a grand a semester, also.
I’m already paying tuition myself. I never applied for financial aid before. My parent can’t afford to help at all.

I am going to school for photography but we have not gotten to the part of what type of camera to use…and so on.
Right now I am using a Canon Rebel XT EOS, for my classes….
Can anybody help me out? After my schooling I want to open my own Photography Studio.

I’m just a beginner…I’m interested in taking baby pictures since my baby was born. I only carry a regular simple canon digital camera, and I am thinking of getting a more professional one and learn how to use different lenses, photoshop, etc.. Is there any resources that I can learn more about photography? My budget is pretty tight…is there any affordable resources?

I am interested in photography but I havent yet taken any good pictures recentl. Lately though I think that I should take some steps to improve on it.
What should I do to build up on my interest in photography? I have Canon Powershot S80 and my sister left me her EOS Rebel 2000 which I have no idea how to use since it requires real film in comparison of my basic knowledge only on operating digital cameras. Any ideas on how to get this baby up and running? [I have a specific question targetting this on on the photography forum]
Anyway, what steps would you suggest me to take in improving myself? Take classes? Join competitions? etc.. Please help me…

I recently bought the Canon Powershot A550 as it was affordable, 5 AUD.
Its good and everything but I was wondering if anyone could give me tips on doing photography with a normal digital camera, not one of those expensive ones.
Like techniques and ideas.
thanks

I would like to start a small photography business…nothing major as I am an amateur photographer and am not sure of myself/skills yet. I do think that I take pretty decent photos and have a great passion for photography but don’t really know how to begin. What kind of fairly inexpensive camera is a good start? I do have a Sony Digital Camera and a Canon SLR 35mm. Also, what other kind of equipment is imperative when beginning-just to look like you know what your doing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
One more thing before I forget, what is needed to take great photos of food/wine? Is there a special kind of setup that I would need?

my sister is having a baby and wants a camera that she can shoot with no flash for the baby (so it doesn’t hurt her eyes, and if you use a flash, baby’s learn that it hurts their eyes and after a while they will squint as soon as you put the camera to your eye). she wants it to be something good for when the baby is older too (ie: soccer, birthday parties, etc.)
i’m a photographer and i like nikons but when i compared the nikon d5000 and the canon xt1i today, i ran into a dilemma as they seem to balance each other out in pros and cons. here’s what i found comparing the same no flash photo on both cameras:
canon xt1i:
photo too soft in color, sort of a blue tone. could be corrected with custom settings in P mode, but my sister doesnt want to have to mess with settings.
smooth looking photo, not as sharp as i’d like it to be
nikon d5000:
colors too yellow in tone
sharper image than the canon
noisier than the canon
cleans the sensor when it turns on, so it has a slow startup time. not sure if that can be turned off.
* my sister wants to be able to use it on auto and scene modes.
i know that most people will say just get her a point and shoot, but she wants the option of adjusting stuff if she wants to, and i do believe that even the photos in auto mode on the dslr deliver a more quality looking picture than a point and shoot. something about that mirror in their makes a big difference in how it looks, although i can’t quite put my finger on that factor that makes it look like "quality."
