Should one do the photography oneself or have a professional photographer do the work?
This is a classic question and it is usually best to do a combination of both. A formal baby photo is something that will be cherished for not only your life time but it will also be cherished by the grown adult and their loved ones. So it is most often advisable to get a newborn baby photo from a professional photographer.
On the other side it is imperative that the parents capture all those precious momements that only they are their to experience.

I want to start taking up photography because i noticed there aren’t really alot of reasonable photographers in my area. I want to do things like senior pictures, wedding photography, prom and special event, family and baby, photography like that of people. I live by the water, so im sure the beach will be the site of alot of my photographs. What is the best type of camera i should look for? Where might i get one for a reasonable price?

I would like to study 4 different types of photography in college. These are the four types:
-Baby Photography
-Black and White Photography
-Portrait Photography
-Landscape Photography
So what is the best kind of camera for these types of photography? And don’t worry about the price.

I was just wondering wether or not i should put an ad in the local classifieds. I am pretty new at photography- but i think ive got the talent and passion to back it up. I recently bought myself a Dslr, and ive got two professional editing programs. Im thinking about doing some baby photography. Could i charge, even a small fee? I have been practicing on family and friends, as well as my own 5 month old. I have a Bunch of great easter props.

I am considering taking up photography, as I have always been into artsy things. After several "sessions" with my 11 month old, I’m often asked why I don’t take it up… so I’m considering it! Anywho, obviously i know nothing of the technical things yet. I have seen several pictures, in which it basically looks as though the subjects are on a bright white computer background, with only the subject and its shadow (mostly in front of it) how is this achieved? Obviously the placement of the shadow indicates a strong back light, but is it so strong there is no horizon line? I.E. http://www.portraitsbymia.com/miami_baby_photography_photographer.htm
Also… a suggestion of a beginners camera would be nice! … Under 600-700 a plus aswell. Thanks!
Take up, as in start to learn a lot more aobut what i’m doing, build a portfolio.
Also, I have a nice point and shoot that I have been using for the last couple years. However, I am ready to step up, and learn more about lighting, backgrounds, focus, etc.
I am definetely busy with an 11 month old.. and not to mention another on the way in a few months. However, I need to find something that I can enjoy and eventually help out financially. Like I said… I really enjoy photography!
