I am trying to remember a photographer I learned about in an art history class. I believe her first name is Kathy and she took self-portraits of herself as these different characters or versions of herself. Google came up with nothing and I cannot figure it out. She also worked (I think) between the 1940s and 1960s. Any ideas? She must be famous enough if she was included in the class.

I am interested in portrait photography (familes, children, babies, seniors, engagements and so on) but at this point in my life, I cannot have a studio so Im going to work on my outdoor photography. Could someone give me a list of the basic equipment I would need to do this. Also, I will not have an assistant at any time so I would need everything to be "owner operated" you know..something I could set up myself with no assistance from someone having to hold something for me to do the shoot. I already have a camera, tripod and a portrait lens. But im interested in lighting, etc.. Thanks in advance.!!
REASON FOR NO ASSISTANTS: I live ten hours from any family of friends. Dont know anyone that could help out and I have 2 small children that will be with my husband while Im working.

I have two SLRs but I don’t have a Dslr yet. I am pretty good at taking pictures and have quite a bit of knowledge about photography already and have been into it for about 10 years now.Although, I want to do more with it like start using models and doing fashion photography. Eventually I would like to be able to learn how to sell my photography and start my own business. Does anybody have any suggestions with how to get started.

This friend of my neighbor offered to give us a free portrait of our baby as a shower gift. He ends up never giving us any pictures, and he is using our baby’s image to make money. He is using our baby’s head shot as his business logo, putting him on greeting cards, shirts, stickers, posters, and altering his image to include glasses, hats, ciggarettes hanging out of his mouth, and other drug associated type "artwork". It’s really bothering me that we never signed his release to allow him to do that yet he is doing it anyways. WTF?

A professional photographer in my area had mentioned during a class that she used a fake wood floor for her baby portraits and the wall was just paper.
