How much should I spend as a starting photographer who wants to sell?

I want to make a portfolio but I don’t have a lot of money. I would like to be a rich photographer.

my suggestion is to do a Y!A search on this question (there are about 20 of them on here every day asking the exact same thing you are) and read the answers they are given.

If the only reason you’re getting into the business is to get rich then you’re in for a rude awakening.

Ok this is what I think you should do:
Find a rich photographer and if he/she is still alive and did not inherit the wealth, ask them to be your mentor for about 20 years.
